ANKORA — PRIVACY POLICY AND TERMS OF USE

This document contains the Privacy Policy, the Personal Data Protection and Processing Disclosure Statement (KVKK / GDPR / CCPA), and the Terms of Use and Conditions of Service (Terms of Service / EULA) governing the use of the Ankora mobile application (“Application”, “Ankora”, “We”, or “Service”).

By downloading, creating an account on, or using Ankora, you declare that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and data processing principles set forth in this agreement.

SECTION 2: TERMS OF USE AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE (TERMS OF SERVICE)

1. General Conditions

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) set forth the conditions between the individual using the Ankora mobile application and related services (“User”) and the developers of Ankora (MedXLab). By using the Service, you are deemed to have accepted these terms.

2. Description of the Service and MEDICAL / ACADEMIC DISCLAIMER

  1. Educational and Memory Reinforcement Purpose: Ankora is an academic study tool designed to assist medical and dental students, physicians, and healthcare professionals in reinforcing knowledge through the spaced repetition method while preparing for exams (e.g., TUS, DUS, USMLE, committee exams) and professional coursework.
  2. Not Medical Advice or Diagnosis: No content, cards, hints, or artificial intelligence outputs provided in the application CONSTITUTE medical diagnosis, clinical evaluation, treatment advice, prescription, or professional medical decision-making.
  3. Clinical Decisions: Ankora content cannot be referenced for clinical or medical decisions applied to real patients. In actual clinical cases, current guidelines, peer-reviewed medical literature, and the authoritative opinions of qualified medical specialists must always be taken as the sole basis.
  4. Limitation of Liability: Ankora does not warrant the absolute error-free nature of the information contained in the application and cannot be held liable for damages that may arise from clinical decisions made based on this information.

3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Content Policy and Accuracy

  • The deck generation engine operates in integration with Google Gemini artificial intelligence models.
  • Due to the inherent nature of artificial intelligence technology, terminology or translation errors (hallucinations) may occasionally occur in generated cards.
  • Users are obligated to verify the accuracy of generated cards against primary academic study sources and, if necessary, correct them using in-app editing tools before taking exams or committing them to memory.

4. User Accounts and Security

  • The user is obligated to provide accurate information during registration.
  • The user is personally responsible for the security of their account access credentials.
  • Accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent use may be suspended or terminated.

5. Intellectual Property and Uploaded Documents

  1. Application Ownership: Ankora’s design, software code, user interface elements, and algorithms belong to the Ankora Team and are protected by copyright laws.
  2. Documents Uploaded by the User: Copyrights to uploaded PDFs, presentations, or lecture notes belong to you (or their lawful copyright holders). Ankora is deemed to be granted a limited technical processing license solely for the purpose of card generation.
  3. Copyright Infringement Notice: If you identify content that infringes upon your copyright, you may contact us at ancoracards@gmail.com.

6. Subscriptions, Payments, and Cancellation Terms (Ankora Pro)

Ankora can be used free of charge with basic features; an Ankora Pro paid subscription option is offered for expanded quotas and advanced features.

Subscription Rules:

  1. Payment Infrastructure: All purchases and subscription transactions are conducted through the Google Play In-App Billing infrastructure.
  2. Automatic Renewal: Ankora Pro subscriptions (Monthly or Annual) automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  3. Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via Google Play Store > Profile > Payments & Subscriptions. In the event of cancellation, your Pro rights continue until the end of the current billing cycle.
  4. Refunds: Fee refunds are subject to Google Play’s standard consumer refund policies.

7. Acceptable Use Rules

Users undertake not to manipulate the system’s AI quotas, not to apply reverse engineering, not to attempt unauthorized access to the database or API infrastructure, and not to upload illegal/harmful files.

8. Service Changes and Limitation of Liability

Ankora provides the service “as is” and “as available”. Ankora cannot be held responsible for temporary disruptions arising from infrastructure maintenance or third-party service outages. Ankora’s total financial liability for possible direct damages is limited to the total subscription fee paid by the user in the preceding 12 months.

9. Modifications and Amendments

Ankora reserves the right to update these terms in accordance with legal regulations or new features. Updates will be announced within the application or on our website. Continued use of the application signifies your acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The Laws of the Republic of Turkey shall apply to the implementation and interpretation of this agreement. The Courts and Execution Offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan) are exclusively authorized to resolve disputes.
